Drips Ended, Fixtures Upgraded | Moen · Delta · American Standard · Pfister Stocked | CSLB #1051553 | Se Habla Español

A dripping faucet wastes water by the gallon and patience by the hour, and a dated sink drags a whole kitchen backward. Ser Plumbing handles the full fixture story: repairs that name the failed part, replacements that respect your counters and cabinets, and installations where the fit and finish get the same attention as the connections behind them.

Bring your own fixture or choose from the brands we stock; either way, you get the straight advice on what lasts in our hard water, what the warranty really covers, and what the job honestly costs before it starts.

The problem

The Problem: Why People Call

Six situations cover almost every fixture call. Each one points somewhere different, and most end in a named part.

The drip that will not die

A faucet dripping after shutoff is a worn cartridge, washer, or seat, and every week of procrastination is a few hundred gallons on your bill. It is also the repair most likely to be worth doing versus replacing, once someone actually looks at the fixture’s age and brand.

Low flow at one fixture only

Whole-house pressure problems belong to pipes; one weak faucet is almost always a mineral-clogged aerator or a failing cartridge, which is a far happier diagnosis. In our water, aerators clog on a schedule.

Handles loose, stiff, or spinning

Worn cartridges and stripped stems announce themselves through the handles first. Caught early, it is a repair; ignored, the fixture usually finishes the argument.

The sink upgrade that comes with the counter

New countertops, new sink, new faucet: the coordination job. Done in the right order, it is seamless; done in the wrong order, someone is cutting stone twice. We have cut granite for a sink swap and had the customer thrilled.

Corroded, pitted, or just dated

Two decades of hard water will chew through cheap chrome. When the finish is gone and the brand never stocked spare cartridges, replacement stops being vanity and starts being math.

Washing machine hoses and valves on borrowed time

The laundry connection is the most catastrophic small failure in a house: a burst rubber hose floods faster than almost anything else plumbed. Aging valves that will not close and original rubber hoses both earn proactive replacement.

Hard water is hardest on the fixtures you touch

Hard water is hardest on the fixtures you touch every day. The mineral load in our municipal blend builds scale inside aerators, freezes cartridges in place, pits cheap finishes, and shortens the life of every moving part at the tap. It is why the same faucet model that serves fifteen years in a soft-water state gives up at eight here, why we clean aerators as routine maintenance, and why our brand advice leans hard toward fixtures whose replacement cartridges will still be stocked a decade from now.

The housing stock adds its own quirks

The housing stock adds its own quirks. Older kitchens around Paramount and South Gate still run wall-mounted faucets; we replace them properly, unions and all. Mid-century bathrooms hide corroded galvanized stub-outs and seized angle stops behind gleaming new fixtures, which is why every faucet job here includes a look at the shutoffs underneath: the best new faucet in the world is only as serviceable as the valve that feeds it.

Supply stops and connectors age invisibly

And because supply stops and flexible connectors age invisibly, we treat every under-sink visit as a two-minute inspection of the whole connection chain. A large share of the water-damage calls we see start not at the faucet but at a twenty-year-old supply line nobody ever looked at.

What's covered

What’s Covered

01

Faucet repair

Cartridges, washers, seats, O-rings, aerators, and diverters across every major brand. The failed part gets named and shown, and repairs finish same-visit when parts allow, which for the brands we stock is most of the time.

02

Faucet replacement and installation

Kitchen, bathroom, bar, and laundry fixtures, deck-mount and wall-mount, customer-supplied or from our stocked lineup of Moen, Delta, American Standard, and Pfister. Every installation includes new supply lines and a check of the angle stops underneath, because reusing a corroded valve under a new faucet is how shortcuts get remembered.

03

Kitchen sink replacement and installation

Drop-in and undermount swaps, including the coordination that makes them clean: countertop cutting where the new sink demands it, disposal reconnection, dishwasher tie-ins, and strainer and trap work that does not leak on day three. Garbage disposal installation →

04

Bathroom and utility sinks

Vanity sinks, pedestals, and the laundry-room workhorses, installed level, sealed, and trapped correctly.

05

Washing machine valves and supply lines

Seized or dripping laundry valves replaced, and original rubber hoses upgraded to braided stainless before they write their own flood story.

06

Outdoor faucets and hose bibbs

The yard faucet counts too: leaking, dripping, or broken hose bibbs replaced, including frost-free styles where the wall calls for them. An outdoor faucet that will not shut off completely is quietly feeding your water bill and, against a foundation, quietly feeding problems bigger than the bill.

07

Angle stops and supply lines

The little valves that decide whether a future leak is a nuisance or a catastrophe. We replace seized and weeping stops as their own service or alongside any fixture job.

Pricing

Pricing

Fixture work is quoted from what the job actually needs, and here is where it typically lands:

Item Typical range
Faucet repair (cartridge, aerator, seats) Flat-rate after the diagnostic (from $125), credited on approval
Faucet installation/replacement Typically, $250 to $850 depending on fixture, mount, and shutoff condition
Kitchen sink replacement Quoted by sink type and countertop work required
Washing machine valve replacement Quoted flat-rate; modest, and cheaper than any flood
Angle stop replacement Quoted flat-rate, often bundled with fixture work

What moves the number: the fixture itself, wall-mount versus deck-mount, what the shutoffs and supply lines underneath need, and countertop work on sink jobs. Customer-supplied fixtures are welcome; the estimate simply separates fixture from labor so you can see both.

Standard labor discounts apply. Free estimates cover replacements and installations.

The visit

How a Fixture Visit Works

01

Tell us the fixture and the symptom, and send a photo if you can; brand and model often let us arrive with the right cartridge.

02

Diagnosis names the part: Cartridge, washer, aerator, or a fixture past its useful life, with the honest repair-versus-replace math.

03

The written number comes before the work, fixture, and labor shown separately when you are supplying your own.

04

The connection chain underneath gets its two-minute inspection: angle stops, supply lines, trap condition. Anything failing gets pointed out, not padded in.

05

Installation or repair proceeds with counters and cabinets protected, and wall-mount work gets the extra care it demands.

06

Everything is tested under real use: full hot, full cold, sprayer, drain, and a dry paper towel under the trap before we call it done.

07

Old fixtures haul away with us, and the warranty terms land on your invoice.

Why Ser Plumbing

Why Ser Plumbing for Fixtures

01

Repair gets a real chance

Faucet repair is a dying art. When a cartridge saves a quality fixture, that is what we quote first.

02

The brands with a future

We stock fixtures whose cartridges and parts will still be available in year fifteen. A bargain-bin faucet is cheap precisely because it is disposable, and we will say so out loud.

03

The connection chain gets inspected

Angle stops, supply lines, and traps get eyes on every visit. Most under-sink floods start at parts nobody looked at during the last three fixture swaps.

04

Counter and cabinet respect

Granite gets cut cleanly or not at all, cabinets get protected, and undermount work is done by someone who has done it enough to be boring about it.

05

Same-day when booked early

Fixture calls are truck-stock work for the common brands. Morning calls very often end with a working faucet by dinner.

The Supplied-Fixture Question, Answered Properly

Can you buy your own faucet and have us install it? Absolutely, and plenty of our fixture customers do. But the warranty math deserves two honest minutes, because it is the part every online guide muddles. When you supply the fixture, the manufacturer warrants the parts and nobody warrants the marriage: if the fixture itself proves defective in month four, the maker owes you a cartridge in the mail, the return trip to swap it is on you, and the receipts, registration, and claim call are yours to manage. When the fixture comes through us, the fixture and the labor arrive as one accountable package: if anything misbehaves, you call one number and the same plumber who installed it makes it right under the workmanship warranty on your invoice.

Neither path is wrong. Supplying your own makes sense when you have found exactly the fixture you want, and we will tell you before installation if the model you chose has a reputation worth knowing about; there are internet-famous faucets we have removed more than once. Buying through us makes sense when you want the decision simplified to a price point and a finish, with the brand risk carried by people who install these things every week. What we will never do is install a fixture we can see is defective or wrong for the location and stay quiet about it; the veto comes with an explanation, and it has saved more than one customer a restocking fee.

FAQ

Faucet & Sink FAQs

Sixteen straight answers to the questions we hear on the phone every week.

Ask us directly
Ser Plumbing plumber at the open van on a service call Repair first Faucet repair is a dying art. We quote it first.
Why does my faucet drip after I turn it off?
A worn cartridge, washer, or valve seat has stopped sealing. It is the most repairable problem in plumbing, and in our hard water it arrives on an accelerated schedule; the fix usually takes one visit with the right part.
Should I repair or replace my faucet?

Repair wins on quality fixtures with available parts. Replacement earns the nod when leaks recur, the finish is corroded through, or the brand never stocked spares. The dividing line is usually the fixture's original quality, and we will tell you which side yours sits on.

Can I buy my own faucet and have you install it?

Yes, plenty of our customers do. The full warranty picture is worth reading above: customer-supplied means the manufacturer covers parts and the logistics are yours; plumber-supplied bundles fixture and labor into one accountable warranty. Either way, the install is done identically.

Why is water flow weak at just one faucet?

Nine times out of ten in our area: a mineral-clogged aerator, cleaned or swapped in minutes. The tenth time is a cartridge or a supply issue, and the diagnosis is quick either way.

How much does faucet installation cost?

Typically, $250 to $850, moved by the fixture type, deck versus wall mount, and the condition of the shutoff valves underneath. The number lands in writing before the wrench moves.

Can you replace a sink without replacing the countertop?

Usually yes, and sometimes the counter needs a precise cut for a larger sink, which is exactly the coordination we handle; granite included, as the reviews attest.
