Trenchless Sewer Repair in Paramount, CA
Pipe Bursting & CIPP Lining | The Yard, Driveway, and Landscaping Survive | Camera-Verified Eligibility | CSLB #1051553 | Se Habla Español
The old way to replace a sewer line was a trench through everything you have planted, poured, and paid for between the house and the street. Trenchless methods changed that math: through one or two modest access pits, a failed line can be replaced by pipe bursting or renewed from within by CIPP lining, while the driveway, the mature Ficus, and the hardscape stay exactly where they are.
The catch, and there is exactly one, is eligibility: trenchless is a set of precise techniques, not a miracle, and the camera decides which lines qualify. That is the whole shape of how we sell it: footage first, methods explained side by side, and excavation recommended plainly on the lines where digging is genuinely the right answer.

The Problem: Why People Call
Seven situations bring a line to the trenchless conversation, and the camera settles every one of them.
The Two Methods, Side by Side
Pipe bursting: full replacement, small footprint
A bursting head is pulled through the old line, fracturing it outward into the surrounding soil while towing a brand-new HDPE pipe into place behind it. You end with an entirely new pipe, in some cases upsized, through two access pits instead of a trench. It handles most structural failures, asks only that a cable can be pulled through, and is the method of choice when the old pipe is too far gone to serve as a host.
CIPP lining: a new pipe inside the old
A resin-saturated liner is drawn into the cleaned host pipe and cured in place, forming a continuous, jointless new pipe within the old one, sealing cracks and every root-welcoming joint in a single pass. It typically needs just one access point, preserves anything above undisturbed, and costs a small amount of internal diameter that jointless smoothness more than repays in flow. It asks the host pipe to be structurally sound enough to hold its shape.
Which one fits your line
The camera decides, on eligibility first: a collapsed or badly deformed host rules out lining; a route that cannot pass the bursting rig rules out bursting; a line with both options open gets both quoted with the tradeoffs plain. We hold no method loyalty; the measurements do the choosing. Sewer camera inspection →
Severely collapsed, badly back-pitched, or grossly misaligned lines: conventional excavation, recommended plainly → Sewer service
Spot repairs where one joint failed and the rest is healthy: a smaller answer we quote gladly
Pricing
Trenchless projects vary genuinely, and here is how the numbers work:
The range is wide because the projects genuinely are: a short residential run and a full lateral with street frontage are different undertakings sharing a name. What stays constant: the number is written, the method reasoning is on camera, and the comparison against digging includes what digging would destroy, because a trench’s true price includes the landscaping line.
Financing is available for qualifying projects through our booking platform, and free estimates apply to replacement projects.

Eighteen straight answers to the questions we hear on the phone every week.
Ask us directly ↗Why start with Ser Plumbing rather than a trenchless-only outfit?
Pipe bursting or CIPP lining: which is better?
Neither, universally: bursting delivers a wholly new pipe and handles worse hosts; lining preserves everything above and seals every joint in one pass. Your line's geometry, structure, and access decide, and the side-by-side above is the honest comparison.
Is trenchless really less disruptive?
Dramatically: access pits instead of a trench, days instead of a week-plus, and the landscaping, driveway, and hardscape stay yours. The surface restoration line on a conventional dig is the number that makes the case for trenchless.
Is trenchless cheaper than digging?
Sometimes on the plumbing alone, often decisively once digging's restoration costs join the comparison, and occasionally not at all on short, shallow, open-lawn runs where a simple trench is genuinely the value play. We quote both when both are real and let the totals argue.
How long does a trenchless project take?
Most residential projects complete their site work in a day or two, with permits and inspection wrapping the calendar around that. The written proposal includes your line's actual timeline.
How long does the result last?
Both methods install modern materials engineered for generations of service, and the final camera pass documents exactly what you now own. Specific warranty terms ride your written proposal rather than a webpage's promises.
