Tankless Water Heater Installation & Repair in Paramount, CA
Navien · Noritz · Rinnai · Rheem Installed & Serviced | Annual Descaling for Hard Water | CSLB #1051553 | Se Habla Español
Endless hot water, a closet back, and a unit that can outlast two conventional tanks: tankless has real advantages, and it also has real requirements that a rushed installer will skip. Gas line capacity, venting, condensate, and, in our water, a maintenance habit that decides whether the unit thrives or throws error codes.
Ser Plumbing installs tankless systems correctly, repairs every major brand, and keeps them alive with the annual descaling SE LA County water demands. And if tankless is not actually the right fit for your home, Luis will tell you that before you spend a dollar, because we install standard tanks too and have nothing to push.

The Problem: Why People Call
Five situations cover almost every tankless call we take, and each one points somewhere different.
What’s Covered
Tankless installation and conversion
New installs and tank-to-tankless conversions, including gas line sizing, venting, condensate management, isolation valves for future service, and permit and inspection coordination. Modern condensing units squeeze more heat from the same gas and vent through simpler materials, which is why most of our installations land there; where an existing vent path dictates otherwise, we say so at the estimate. Gas line services →
Tankless repair and error-code diagnostics
Scale-related codes, ignition failures, clogged inlet filters, restricted heat exchangers, venting faults, and sensor replacements across Navien, Noritz, Rinnai, Rheem, Bosch, and other major brands. The pattern behind most of them is the same: hard water and skipped maintenance first, undersized gas piping from the original install second. Both are fixable, and both are checked on every repair visit so the same code does not come back next season.
Annual descaling and maintenance
Full descaling flush of the heat exchanger, inlet filter cleaning, and an operating check. In our water, annually is the right interval.
The water softener conversation
Hard water is the single biggest threat to a tankless investment here, which is why we raise water treatment at install time rather than after the first error code. A properly sized softener sharply reduces scale buildup inside the heat exchanger, stretches the descaling interval, and protects the efficiency you paid for. It changes the ten-year cost of ownership enough that it deserves a real conversation, not a brochure. Water softener installation →
Recirculation options
If the wait for hot water at the far bathroom drives you crazy, a recirculation setup solves it. We will tell you whether your system supports it before you commit.

Pricing
Tankless pricing depends on real variables, and we publish the ones we can pin down:
The installation range is wide because the variables are real: brand and capacity, venting path, whether your gas line needs upsizing, electrical requirements, and condensate routing. The written estimate you approve is the number you pay, and free estimates apply to installations and conversions.
Standard discounts apply to labor (military and first responders 10%, seniors and teachers 5%, first-time customers 10% on qualifying repairs), and financing is available for qualifying projects through our booking platform.
Why Ser Plumbing for Tankless
We install both, so the advice is clean
A tankless-only outfit needs you to buy tankless. We install tanks and tankless at whatever actually fits, which is why the conversation starts with your household and not with a brochure.
Gas sizing done right the first time
The most common bad tankless install in our area is a high-demand unit starved by an undersized gas line. We measure and upsize where needed, because an error code at the first cold snap is not a surprise we ship.
Every major brand serviced
Navien, Noritz, Rinnai, Rheem, and Bosch installed and repaired, regardless of who installed it originally.
Descaling at a flat published price
Starting at $250, annually, quoted exactly when you book. The best insurance a tankless owner in hard-water country can buy.
The owner commissions every install
Luis sets up, tests, and explains the unit himself. The finished pipe and vent work in our review photos is the standard, not the exception

Thirteen straight answers to the questions we hear on the phone every week.
Ask us directly ↗Is tankless worth it for my home?
How often does a tankless need descaling here?
Annually. Manufacturer guidance ranges wider in soft-water regions, but SE LA County water is hard enough that yearly service keeps warranties healthy and error codes away. Ours starts at $250, quoted exactly when you book.
Will my existing gas line support a tankless unit?
Often not without upsizing, and this is the question rushed bids skip. High-demand tankless units draw considerably more gas than the tank they replace. We measure your line and include any upsizing in the written estimate, so the number you approve is complete.
How long does a tankless water heater last?
Twenty years or more is realistic here with annual descaling, roughly double a conventional tank. Skip maintenance in our water, and you can halve that.
How do you size a tankless unit?
By adding up what actually runs at once. A shower draws roughly two to two and a half gallons per minute, a kitchen faucet about one and a half, a washer around two. A household that runs two showers and a load of laundry together needs a unit and a gas supply rated for that simultaneous draw. Our mild incoming water temperature works in your favor here, letting a given unit deliver more flow than the same model manages in a cold-winter state. Oversizing wastes money on day one; undersizing buys cold-shower complaints for a decade. We size from your household's real pattern, in writing.
What do the error codes mean?
Each brand has its own code table, but the patterns repeat: scale restricting the heat exchanger, a clogged inlet filter, ignition faults, or venting issues. Tell us the code when you call, and we arrive knowing the likely suspects.
