Twenty-plus years before the name went on a van

Jose Luis Serrano came into plumbing more than twenty years ago and discovered what keeps good tradespeople in the trade: he liked solving problems with his hands and his head at the same time. A decade of residential service taught him how homes fail and how homeowners feel about it. Five more years in commercial and industrial work, tenant improvements, gas piping, underground lines, occupied facilities where mistakes have audiences, taught him coordination, code discipline, and the habit of documenting everything.

2019: the leap

Leaving a steady W-2 for your own truck is frightening in the way all worthwhile leaps are. What pushed Luis was the chance to serve customers directly, without quotas or scripts, and to build something with his family's name on it for his family's future. SER carries the Serrano name, and the letters carry the standard: Service, Excellence, Reliability.
